Review Disclaimer: I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I'm no stranger to Scarlett Dawn's writings having read her Forever Evermore series; which were amazing! But, I'm not here to talk about that fun and sexy series.

I'm here to give you my thoughts on Queen of Gods. How to begin? It had been a few months since I had read a supernatural or paranormal book. I have been reading quite a few cozy mysteries. So, when I started reading Queen of Gods, I was piqued by the beginning of the story.

I was immersed in a culture and land where magic reigns and it's not a taboo subject to talk about in fear of being institutionalized like some other books refer to the discovery of magic by non-magic folks. This was refreshing to read yet my brain had to quickly switch gears to understand. Admittedly, I was under the impression of an unsuspecting woman discovering her magic and having to hide it but the book is not so. Far from it.

In Queen of Gods, we meet two women who are smart and confident. Don't we love heroines like this? They were also bold in their wants and needs. They did not shy away from making their voices heard and going after what they wanted.

Queen of Gods is sexy! Certainly not for the faint of heart in both blood, gore, and sex. You are immersed in a world where intelligence and decision-making rules. The minute you show weakness, you are done. These women.... they embodied defying the odds that were against them.

I wondered, at first, how two authors, one whom I've not read, could come together to create a captivating story but I was pleasantly surprised at how both worlds coexisted together yet separately of each other. I do not know which author wrote which part of the story (and I'm totally fine with that) but the whole book works amazingly well together.

Reading Queen of Gods was fun and exciting.

Do I recommend Queen of Gods? Yes, I do! If you are turned on - pun intended - by sexy books with substance, brains and beauty, then Queen of Gods is for you. I will definitely be reading the next installment to come.
